Christ, Our Anchor
π Scripture:
βWe have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain.β β Hebrews 6:19 (ESV)
β Reflective Question:
What storms in your life are currently tempting you to drift away from the security of Christ?
Life is full of uncertainties β unexpected problems, disappointments, and sudden changes that can really shake our confidence. In such moments, we may find ourselves grasping for stability, only to realise that the external things we once trusted β our plans, strength, and understanding β are not as firm as we thought.
Here is where the writer of Hebrews points us to the only anchor that will never fail: Jesus Christ Himself. Unlike earthly anchors that sink deep into shifting sands, this anchor is secured in the very presence of God. It holds firm not because of our grip on Him, but because of His grip on us.
No matter what storms may come our way, we do not drift aimlessly. Our hope is not in wishful thinking; it is a certainty grounded in the completed work of Christ. The same Jesus who quieted the storm with a divine word is the One who will hold us fast today.
ππ½ Prayer:
βLord Jesus, in the midst of lifeβs uncertainties, remind me that You are my unshakable anchor. Keep my heart steady when I am tempted to drift, and strengthen my trust in Your sovereign care. May my hope be firmly placed in You alone.β
Amen.
