The Power of the Gospel

📖 Scripture:

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.”— Romans 1:16 (ESV)

❓ Reflective Question:

Do you truly believe that the gospel is enough, or are you tempted to add to its message?

The gospel is not just ‘good advice’; it is good news. And not just any form of good news — it is the very power of God made manifest to humanity. In a world obsessed with self-improvement and moral striving, we are constantly bombarded with messages telling us that we need to ‘fix ourselves’. But the gospel of Christ tells us something completely different: we cannot do anything to fix ourselves in our own effort, but that Christ has already accomplished everything on our behalf.

It is up to us to accept that freedom has come; instead of living a life filled with fear and despair. Paul declares that he is not ashamed of this gospel. Why? Because it is not weak or outdated — it is the power of God at work in the hearts of those who believe. It saves not because of human effort, but because of divine grace.

There is no sin too great, no heart too hardened, no life too lost that the gospel cannot transform. And as those who have been redeemed, we are called not to dilute or apologise for this message, but to proclaim it boldly, trusting in its power to save.

🙏🏽 Prayer:

“Father, thank You for the power of the gospel. Forgive me when I forget that it is enough. Give me courage to proclaim it without hesitation and faith to trust in its transforming work. Let my life be a testimony to Your saving grace. In Jesus’ name;”

Amen.
