Resting in God’s Promises

📖 Scripture:

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28 (ESV)

❓Reflective Question:

Where do you need to trust God’s promises instead of relying on your own strength?

We are a restless generation. Our minds are constantly racing with all forms of anxieties, our schedules overflow with demands, and our hearts can struggle to find peace. We tend to convince ourselves that if we just work harder, plan better, or control more, we will finally find the rest we sincerely long for. But true rest isn’t found in our own mortal efforts — it’s found in complete transparency.

Our Lord Jesus invites the weary to come to Him, not with their own strengths and human capacity, but with a heart that is willing to pour out their their burdens on the alter of God. Our Heavenly Father doesn’t offer us a to-do list or a self-improvement plan; He offers Himself. His promises are not distant hopes but present realities —that He will provide, He will sustain, and will never leave us.

Resting in God’s promises means believing that He is in total control of our lives, even when life feels chaotic and messy. It’s about learning to let go of fear and hold on to faith. Will you come to Him today? Will you leave your worries and pains at the foot of the Cross? Come to Christ today and He will give you rest.

🙏🏽Prayer:

“Lord, I am weary and weak without You. Teach me to rest in Your promises instead of striving in my own strength and human capacity. Help me to trust that You are always working, even when I cannot see it. In You alone, I find true rest.  Through Jesus Christ Your son.”

Amen.
