Living with Gratitude
๐ Scripture:
โGive thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.โ โ 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (ESV)
โ Reflective Question:
Do we see Godโs goodness in the small, everyday blessings of life?
We are often too quick to notice what we lack in life and too slow to recognise the blessings we already have. We wake up each morning, breathing the air God freely provides to us. Our skin feels the warmth of the sun. He has meticulously set all the stars in the sky for our pleasure, yet we forget to thank Him for His wondrous creation. But a heart that sees Godโs gifts everywhere is a heart that is truly alive.
Gratitude is not only for the joyful seasons; it is for every season. When we thank God even in hardship, we remind our souls that He is still at work, that His love has not left us. It can be easy to praise Him when all is well and things are running smoothly, but when we praise Him in difficulty, we declare that our trust is in Him, not in our circumstances.
A thankful heart is never empty, for it sees abundance where others see lack. Therefore, if we practise gratitude, we will find that joy follows closely behind. Let us begin now, right here in this moment โ thanking Him for the gift of life, for strength, for people who love us, and for the very presence of God who walks with us.
๐๐ฝ Prayer:
โLord, forgive us when we forget to give thanks. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, open our eyes to see Your blessings in every moment. May you fill our hearts with an overflow of gratitude, and may we never tire of praising You for all good things You have done. In Jesus name we prayโ
Amen.
