Finding God in the Ordinary

๐Ÿ“– Scripture:

โ€œSo, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.โ€ โ€” 1 Corinthians 10:31 (ESV)

โ“ Reflective Question:

How can we recognise that even the smallest tasks can be an offering to God?

It is a serious mistake to think that only great acts of service please the Lord. Many long to do mighty things for God, but they overlook the holiness of the small things. My beloved, you will find out that peeling potatoes, sweeping the floor, or fetching water can be just as sacred as kneeling before God in prayer โ€” if done as a holy act of love.

God is present in the ordinary. He is with us as we work, as we speak with a neighbour, as we care for our families. Nothing is too small to offer to Him, and when we do, even the most menial task is filled with a joy which cannot be described with words. thatโ€™s because A soul at peace with God will find Him in everything โ€” because He is already there.

Let us not wait for some grand purpose or โ€œdivine callingโ€ to serve Him. Let us serve Him now, where we are, with whatever we have. If we learn to love Him in the simplest of things, we will never struggle to find Him in the greatest of moments.

๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ Prayer:

โ€œGracious Redeemer, open our eyes to see You in the simple moments of life. Teach us that nothing is too small to be done in love for You. May we find You in the ordinary, and may our hearts delight in serving You, no matter what the task may be. In Jesusโ€™ name we pray;โ€

Amen.
