Every Day with Jesus
đź“– Scripture:
“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus.” — Colossians 3:17 (NIV)
❓Reflective Question:
How can you invite Christ into the ordinary moments of your daily life?
We often look for God in the spectacular moments of life — the miraculous occurrences, where we can tangibly see God move for ourselves or others. Then there are those who chase the mountain-top experiences, where they crave states of spiritual ecstasy. Regardlessly, Christ is just as present in the mundane moments of life just as He is in the things that are miraculous to us.
Did you know that folding laundry gives you the opportunity to worship? Going for a nice stroll could give you time to pray, or making dinner for the family may be an act of service to God? When all things are done with a heart anchored in Him, even the ordinary things in life become moments of holy encounters with God. The son of a carpenter from Nazareth knew the rhythm of everyday life — His hands once shaped wood long before they bore the scars of the cross.
Holiness should not be reserved for Sunday service; it’s should be woven into every day of the week, too. When we live with an awareness of His presence at all times, the most simplest of tasks become opportunities to worship God, conversations become sacred encounters with the Holy Spirit, and our daily routines become opportunities for the grace of our Lord to be made manifest to us.
🙏🏽 Prayer:
“Dear Lord, please open my eyes to see You in the simplest of things. Whether it is taking care of my family or the job that You have entrusted me with. May my everyday life reflect Your presence to those who don’t know You, and may you turn ordinary moments into holy encounters.”
Amen.
