Living in Light of the Resurrection

📖 Scripture:

“If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.” — Colossians 3:1 (ESV)

❓ Reflective Question:

How does the reality of Christ’s resurrection shape the way you live each day?

For many, the resurrection is something we celebrate once a year on Easter Sunday. But for the true believer in Christ, it is the sole foundation of our daily life. The Apostle Paul reminds us that if we have been raised with Christ, our focus must be on things above — not merely on carnal, earthly concerns.

The resurrection is more than an event in history; it is the reality that defines our present and future. Because Christ is alive, we have an eternal hope beyond this life. Because He has conquered the wages of sin and death, we are no longer enslaved to them. Because Christ reigns forever, we can walk in newness of life, no longer living for fleeting pleasures but for a joy which is eternal.

To live in light of the resurrection means that our priorities, our desires, and our decisions are shaped by the certainty that Jesus Christ is Lord. The world chases after what is temporary, but we fix our eyes on what is eternal. We do not live for this world because we belong to another.

Risen Lord and King of Kings, help me to live each day in light of Your resurrection. Set my heart on what is eternal, and guard me from being consumed by what is passing away. Teach me to walk in the newness of life You have given me, bringing glory to You in all I do.
